Bill Wittliff is a photographer, director and publisher. His independent press, Encino Press, published many important works including Larry McMurtry’s seminal Texas literature defining book of essays, In a Narrow Grave. As part of Wittliff’s Encino Press, posters and broadsides were published, this one from 1968 is for McMurtry’s In a Narrow Grave. The broadside is usually identified by its first line, "Texas is rich in unredeemed dreams." It is one of the finest pieces issued by the press and is one of the most attractive McMurtry items ever published.
