DAN COLEN / RON DELSENER / MATT KENNY
New York: Fulton Ryder, 2012

8¾ X 11½ inches (22¼ X 29¼ cm)
First edition of 1000 copies. A Real Bronx Cheer by Dan Colen includes Colen's whoopee cushion sculptures, caption text by Ron Delsener and collaborative drawings with Colen's assistant Matt Kenny. The drawings themselves depict contentious moments in the relationship between a priest and his inflatable God, who is rendered in the tradition of a blow-up sex doll. And the whoopee cushions are filled with cement so you can’t ever use them again, a sort of joke-proofing of these novelty props, which are also about the faith an artist places in any object he creates.
